About The Position

Join Our Team as a Manufacturing Quality Engineer II! This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining quality control systems to ensure products meet required specifications. The engineer will identify, investigate, and resolve manufacturing quality issues using root cause analysis and corrective actions. They will also conduct regular audits of manufacturing processes to verify compliance with established standards. Additionally, this role assists in customer escape containment and resolution processes, participates in cost of poor quality (COPQ) metric implementation and improvements, and supports the resolution of complex quality issues. The engineer will utilize quality feedback and metrics to identify opportunities for design and process improvements and monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, making improvement recommendations to leadership. The role requires understanding and compliance with all applicable Company policies and rules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a similar technical field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in quality engineering focusing on manufacturing quality within the electrical industry or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in participating in quality improvement projects.
  • Proven ability to support quality problem resolutions.
  • Good knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Some experience with statistical analysis tools used for quality analysis.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), including ISO 9001.
  • Some experience in process analytics with a broad knowledge of quality tools and industry metrics.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the quality function.
  • Good organizational and multitasking skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Rounded attention to detail with an analytical mindset and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, navigate and resolve conflict, moderate behaviors, and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience.
  • Good communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation). Able to liaise with key stakeholders outside the quality function in technical and non-technical roles and present compelling information to achieve buy-in.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc), including excellent Excel skills and experience using Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain quality control systems to ensure products meet required specifications.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve manufacturing quality issues using root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular audits of manufacturing processes to verify compliance with established standards.
  • Assist in customer escape containment and resolution processes by gathering data, analyzing defects, and contributing to corrective actions as part of a team.
  • Participate in cost of poor quality (COPQ) metric implementation and improvements. Drive COPQ reduction and production stop activities by supporting root cause analysis and applying approved corrective measures.
  • Help verify accuracy in prints and acceptance criteria, contributing to defect identification, disposition, and deviation processes while adhering to established quality protocols.
  • Provide quality support for operations, working closely with production teams to address quality-related issues and drive continuous improvements. Support the resolution of complex quality issues, utilizing advanced problem-solving tools to identify root causes and implement effective preventative measures.
  • Utilize quality feedback and metrics to identify opportunities for design and process improvements, sharing insights with leaders, partners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Support other quality engineers in their work, setting standards and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the quality engineering team.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, make improvement recommendations to leadership based on new insights.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Attend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or required.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with others.
