About The Position

CaptiveAire is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Control Technician for its Groveland, FL manufacturing facility. This role involves performing Quality Control functions within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working, self-starting team player with strong organizational and electrical skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to punctuality and attendance. The company is the nation's leading manufacturer of commercial kitchen ventilation systems and has been in operation for over 40 years, with a network of manufacturing plants across the U.S. and Canada.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong electrical skills.
  • Self-starting team player with a positive attitude and good communication skills.
  • Attendance and punctuality are a priority.
  • Ability to work with controls and quality check instruments.
  • Basic Microsoft Office/Windows knowledge is required.
  • Capable of solving problems and using good judgment in making decisions.
  • Ability to read and work from prints, schematics, and technical bulletins.
  • Ability to read tape measures and use good rudimentary math skills.
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
  • Capable of standing on concrete for extended periods of time.
  • Physical stamina and strength.
  • Satisfactory background check.
  • Negative drug screen required.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 to 4 years' work experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Understanding the relevant product line and grasping detailed specifications.
  • Testing products and inspecting each for established quality points.
  • Maintaining knowledge of expected properties and specifications within the testing process.
  • Ensuring all products are free from defects and upholding quality standards.
  • Using QC module software to locate jobs, specific products, and complete QC inspection surveys.
  • Operating test equipment and maintaining its functionality.
  • Supporting product lines by ensuring efficient testing and steady flow.
  • Communicating effectively via emails, QC module updates, and with supervisors.
  • Covering one primary product line and performing final inspection and functional testing.
  • Filling in as an operator for a product line when there is no QC work.
  • Being cross-trained on a second and third product line to assist other quality technicians.
  • Helping to ensure quality across all stations on a product line.
  • Collaborating with quality engineers to execute QA/QC procedures.
  • Completing QC photos and scanning responsibilities for completed products.
  • Performing physical and electrical inspections of products.
  • Acting as a quality champion on the line and a resource for other stations.
  • Developing product knowledge to independently troubleshoot units.
  • Logging all internal quality issues and completed product surveys through QMS.
  • Reporting to the Quality Manager (QM).
