About The Position

This role provides technical guidance, training, and assistance to related departments regarding the company's quality system, Engineering Standards, procedural specifications, and customer specifications. The Manufacturing Quality Assurance Engineer acts as a company-wide resource for quality assurance and quality management issues. This position may involve managing a team of Quality Control Technicians and potentially serving as the ISO Management Representative, coordinating the implementation of the quality system, interfacing with registrars, coordinating external audits, and recommending improvements and corrective actions. The role also includes managing the ISO9001 internal audit and document control systems, performing supplier quality functions, supporting the Purchasing Department, coordinating continuous improvement initiatives, supporting customer satisfaction efforts, and managing warranty/RGA processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Five plus years’ experience in quality management and/or quality engineering.
  • Familiarity with quality systems and processes such as: ISO9001, SPC, FMEA, QFD, PPAP metrology control, supplier quality, lean manufacturing and/or six sigma methodologies.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Good communications skills.
  • Ability to travel 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance, training, and assistance in the interpretation of quality system, Engineering Standards, procedural specifications, and customer specifications.
  • Act as a resource throughout the company on quality assurance and quality management issues.
  • May directly or indirectly manage a team of Quality Control Technicians.
  • May include ISO Management Representative, coordinate the implementation of our quality system throughout the Company, interface with registrar and coordinate external audits, review quality management systems and recommend improvements and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Manage ISO9001 internal audit system and document control system including record retention.
  • Perform supplier quality functions.
  • Support Purchasing Department through input to supplier selection and support of supplier corrective actions.
  • Provide training on quality assurance related subjects throughout the organization.
  • Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives between manufacturing operations and corporate level operations.
  • Support customer satisfaction efforts by maintaining customer satisfaction Management System Reporting, supporting customer audits and inquiries, and resolving customer requested corrective action.
  • Support warranty/RGA process by maintaining warranty Management System Reporting and supporting corrective and preventive actions related to warrantee and RGA’s.
