About The Position

Inside the Role Support manufacturing operations with an engineering focus on optimizing production processes to improve safety and ergonomics, efficiency, and first time quality. Ensure Production has the necessary tools and process needed to be successful in building trucks. Evaluate new product designs to develop and implement related manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering / Engineering Technology or Related Technical Field OR 6 years relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Proficient with MS Excel and Project
  • Provides informal guidance to new team members
  • experience leading projects or processes as required

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient with CAD systems, preferably AutoCAD or Solidworks
  • Six Sigma or other approaches to problem solving
  • Lean Manufacturing Principles
  • Project Management
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish)
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Business Intelligence (BI) reports, SQL Scripts, and Data Analytics

Responsibilities

  • PreSeries Coordination: Communicate production impacts before PreSeries, collect feedback during and report findings after.
  • Template Coordination: Manage ISO process for tracking templates/ assembly aids used by production.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide technical expertise in integrating equipment, systems, materials, and processes into a cohesive, cost-effective, and productive manufacturing system.
  • Integrate DC tools into the assembly process for safety critical joints.
  • Interface with production departments to specify type and kind of equipment needs.
  • Evaluate current manufacturing processes for improvement opportunities.
  • Recommend process changes and coordinate the implementation of these changes into production.
  • Review new or upcoming product changes and identify production requirements.
  • Suggest product design modifications where applicable.
  • Develop new (or modify existing) equipment as part of the review and planning process.
  • Prepare capital project requests and manage their implementation.
  • Apply practical problem-solving techniques to resolve systemic failures in the process or with equipment.
  • Assist maintenance in troubleshooting / supporting equipment
  • Resolve risk/issues with a sense of urgency.
