About The Position

This role will be responsible for supporting new product integration into DTNA’s Portland Truck Plant. You will support operating units through the implementation of new tooling and equipment and ensure production readiness for current and new truck models. The ideal candidate will work closely with production, materials, design, automation, facilities, and project management to deliver an integrated manufacturing solution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
  • At least 2 years of related experience
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country the position is located in at the time of application

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma or other approaches to problem solving
  • Proficient with CAD systems, preferably AutoCAD or Solidworks
  • Proficient with MS Excel

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide technical expertise in integrating equipment, systems, materials, facilities, and processes into a cohesive, cost efficient, and productive manufacturing system
  • Support manufacturing departments as required with tools, fixtures, shop aides, etc
  • Evaluate current manufacturing processes for improvement opportunities. Recommend process changes and coordinate the implementation of these changes into production
  • Review new or revised product offerings and identify production requirements. Suggest product design modifications where applicable. Make new /modification of existing equipment recommendations as part of the review process
  • Prepare capital project requests and manage their implementation
  • Apply practical problem solving techniques to resolve systemic failures in the process or with equipment. Assist maintenance in troubleshooting / supporting manufacturing
  • Develop reports and digital solutions to improve process flow, material presentation, material delivery and KPIs tracking
  • Support electronic standard work instruction for line balancing, safety, and quality improvements
  • Resolve risk/issues with a sense of urgency
