About The Position

As a Manufacturing Planner, you will plan, schedule, and monitor manufacturing activities to support customer requirements, efficient use of labor and equipment, and appropriate inventory levels in an on-site manufacturing environment. Develop, maintain , and adjust production schedules and priorities using ERP/MRP data, capacity planning information, and customer requirements. Schedule production based on demand, sales requests, stocking needs, material availability, labor resources, equipment capacity, and established priorities. Monitor production progress and schedule adherence, identifying bottlenecks, shortages, capacity constraints, variances, and delivery risks. Collaborate with Production, Sales, Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, and other teams to resolve production, material, labor, capacity, and scheduling issues. Communicate lead times, schedule changes, production priorities, and potential impacts to relevant stakeholders. Maintain planning and performance metrics, monitor open manufacturing orders, verify production reporting accuracy, and coordinate corrections when needed. Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance ERP functionality, planning processes, reporting accuracy, scheduling effectiveness, inventory levels, capacity utilization , and lead times.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production planning, scheduling, and production control processes.
  • Working knowledge of quality system procedures, standard operating procedures, and applicable manufacturing requirements.
  • Comfortable using ERP/MRP systems to analyze data, support decision-making, and manage production planning activities.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills for working with operational data.
  • Analytical thinking, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and adjust plans in response to changing production, material, labor, and customer needs.
  • Clear communication across functions.
  • Ability to work effectively with Production, Sales, Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, and other teams to keep schedules on track and resolve issues.
  • Ability to influence others to support established priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional education in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, production planning, scheduling, materials planning, supply chain, or a related environment is preferred.
