About The Position

Rogers Machinery is seeking a Production Planner for its Centralia, WA manufacturing facility. The Production Planner is responsible for creating, modifying, and managing production schedules to ensure orders are completed on time and within budget. This role involves interfacing with outside sales and operations departments to determine product lead times, prepare manufacturing schedules for kits and finished goods, and mitigate material shortages. The company, founded in 1949, specializes in industrial compressed air systems, blowers, vacuum pumps, and positive displacement pumps, with multiple branches and production facilities in the Northwest. Requirements

  • Detail-oriented.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Positive customer relations.
  • 2-5 years’ experience working as a production planner.
  • Good communicator and listener.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks.
  • Goal-oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Epicor Kinetic preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer purchase orders to create suitable production schedules.
  • Monitor and adjust schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Interface with the sales organization to establish lead times and correct order entry.
  • Estimate labor required for production and recommend changes to management.
  • Address and resolve production issues to minimize delays in production.
  • Coordinate production operations in accordance with material, labor, and equipment availability.
  • Evaluate production performance and recommend improvements.
  • Drive changes to production schedules to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Create, maintain, and report relevant KPIs.
  • Interface with Production, Supply Chain, and Quality departments to resolve inventory discrepancies and establish pick schedules.
  • Coordinate with different departments such as sales, marketing, and logistics to plan and prioritize production needs.
  • Establish written SOPs and standard work such as order entry, kitting, and material shortage review.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
