About The Position

Advanced Assembly, Inc. (AAI) is hiring for multiple manufacturing production opportunities within its electronics manufacturing operation in Madison, WI. AAI is an electronics manufacturing services provider of electronic assemblies and products, including the Captioned Telephone (CapTel). This posting includes multiple openings for Assemblers and Machine Operators. Applicants will select their area(s) of interest during the application process, and recruiting will match candidates to the most appropriate role based on experience, availability, and business needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand both verbal and written instructions in the English language.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail (working with small electronic parts).
  • Ability to sit or stand in one area for long periods of time, with minimal breaks.
  • Physical ability to move freely and have sufficient reflexes to perform the same tasks repeatedly using hands and power tools to complete the task at a constant rate.
  • Ability to perform the same task repeatedly.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. occasionally (Assembler).
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis (Machine Operator).
  • Knowledge of SMT, Wave, AOI or coating equipment preferred but not required.
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Good verbal and written skills to communicate well in a diverse team environment.
  • Ability to fill out daily records and logs.
  • Ability to distinguish colors, fine circuit detail, and tones.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble products and sub-assemblies according to written documentation.
  • Test functional performance of assemblies using various meters and test equipment.
  • Move material to and from work area.
  • Minimal soldering of components may be required.
  • Utilize small hand tools, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Package product per process instructions.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by primary supervisor.
  • Make sound judgments while operating production equipment.
  • Organize responsibilities to achieve maximum output to meet production and quality requirements.
  • Understand and follow all applicable quality system procedures and perform all assigned responsibilities outlined in the quality system.
  • Keep work areas neat and organized.
  • Follow established product handling procedures consistently.
  • Setup, run and tear down jobs on each of the production lines.
  • Operate the SMT line, Wave, coating or AOI equipment.
  • Provide general assistance to the workflow when and where needed.
  • Perform daily cleaning of machine as needed.
  • Follow the daily checklist.
  • Communicate with the Automation Technicians, Supervisor, or Team Leads on quality issues.
  • Verify parts on the line.
  • Assist Automation Technicians as needed.
