About The Position

Our site in Chaska, MN is seeking a Manufacturing Production Documentation Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2027 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration. This role will be focused on improving, standardizing, and aligning manufacturing documentation—especially for injection molding processes. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams (quality, molding, machining, operators) to identify gaps, resolve inconsistencies, and update technical documents such as SOPs, work instructions, mold setup sheets, process parameter records, and validation protocols. The role blends technical writing, process understanding, and operator-focused clarity, helping ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and easy for production teams to use.

Requirements

  • Ability to write clear, structured, operator‑friendly documentation.
  • Basic understanding of injection molding or willingness to learn quickly.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with engineers, technicians, operators, and quality teams.
  • Organization skills for managing multiple documents, part families, and revision histories.
  • Problem-solving skills for identifying inconsistencies and proposing improvements.
  • Currently enrolled student.
  • Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June.
  • Familiarity with the university’s requirements to participate in a co-op program.
  • Must not require Entegris sponsorship now or in the future (e.g., H1-B, TN, STEM OPT).
  • Machine‑area mobility, wearing PPE while on the plant floor, attention to detail, light lifting (up to 30 lbs), along with standing and walking.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Visio or flowcharting tools.
  • Experience with SolidWorks or AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Audit existing molding documents (SOPs, work instructions, setup sheets, process parameters) to find outdated, unclear, or inconsistent content.
  • Observe molding operations on the floor, map out steps, and ensure documentation matches real‑world practice.
  • Help build or refine templates, so all documents look and read the same across molding, machining, and quality.
  • Work with engineers, technicians, operators, and quality teams to clarify instructions and resolve discrepancies.
  • Update mold setup sheets, ensuring correct part numbers, tooling, parameters, and photos are included.
  • Verify that documented molding parameters match validated settings and update records when needed.
  • Rewrite complex technical language into clear, step‑by‑step instructions operators can easily follow.
  • Help group similar molded parts and align documentation across families to reduce redundancy.
  • Test new documentation formats with operators, gather feedback, and refine the templates.
  • Ensure documents meet internal standards, regulatory requirements, and audit expectations.
