Manufacturing Process Engineer - Extrusion Blow Molding
About The Position
Flexcraft is hiring a hands-on Manufacturing Process Engineer to improve performance in its plastics manufacturing operations, with a focus on extrusion blow molding. The role owns process improvements affecting scrap, cycle time, uptime, quality, and productivity, and supports new product launches and process validation. The engineer will work directly on the production floor, troubleshooting issues, running trials, and collaborating with operators and teams across Production, Maintenance, and Quality. This is an onsite role supporting a 24/7 manufacturing operation. Regular production-floor presence and alignment with 12-hour production shifts are required as needed to support troubleshooting, process improvements, and key production activities. Requirements
- At least 5 years of process engineering experience in plastics manufacturing.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize processes in production.
- Strong understanding of materials, tooling, and molding equipment.
- Comfort working on the production floor.
Nice To Haves
- Hands-on experience with extrusion blow molding is strongly preferred.
- Experience with SPC, DOE, or Six Sigma tools is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Optimize processes to improve cycle time, quality, and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot production issues directly on the production floor.
- Lead root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions.
- Support new product launches, mold trials, and validations.
- Partner with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams.
- Develop SOPs and standardize best practices.
- Improve scrap, uptime, and productivity through process ownership.
