Manufacturing Process Engineer
About The Position
Responsible for developing, evaluating, and maintaining the integrity of the various manufacturing processes related to SMT & Through-Hole Technology PCB's and possibly Cables & Electro-Mechanical assembly production. Drive the effort for implementation of continuous improvement projects that will affect manufacturability, process efficiency, flow and quality. Other responsibilities include the evaluation of manufacturability and recommendation of design modifications to improve producibility and/or incorporate changes in customer requirements. Perform engineering activities which include labor & NRE estimation, pre-production meetings, manufacture, and test electronic, and failure analysis & correction of non-conformities as required. The position requires process related evaluation, troubleshooting and correction of non-conformities to the component level. Assist with new product introduction and prototype production. Implement engineering changes from customers in a manner that maximizes production efficiency and quality output throughout every stage of the process and product. Pre-production meetings to make sure process operations are set up and performed properly, that manufacturing reviews are completed, and that all approvals are obtained from customers before production begins. Continually evaluate production processes and implement improvements. Collect and analyze data and provide reports pertaining to job efficiency and cost. Perform end-to-end process development for all new and existing products. This hands-on role involves up to 85% of time spent on the production floor.

- Performing engineering activities including labor & NRE estimation, pre-production meetings, manufacturing, testing, and failure analysis & correction of non-conformities.
- Evaluating, troubleshooting, and correcting process-related non-conformities at the component level.
- Assisting with new product introduction and prototype production.
- Implementing customer engineering changes to maximize production efficiency and quality output.
- Conducting pre-production meetings to ensure proper process setup and performance, manufacturing reviews, and customer approvals.
- Continuously evaluating production processes and implementing improvements.
- Collecting and analyzing data to provide reports on job efficiency and cost.
- Performing end-to-end process development for new and existing products.
- New product introduction from initial release through production process development and customer delivery.
- Creating manufacturing instruction documentation for process controls, validation, repeatability, and customer approvals.
- Assisting with cost analysis for improvement projects, equipment risk analysis, and specifying new equipment.
- Stencil design and procurement.
- Performing Reflow oven, wave solder, and hot air rework temperature profiling.
- Equipment programming, setup, and operator training for AOI, X-Ray, Ionograph, SMT placement, Reflow ovens, and Wave solder equipment.
- Participating and leading improvement projects on the manufacturing floor.
