About The Position

This role is for two backfill positions, not former contractors. The manager is looking for candidates who are hungry and want to make this a career. This is a very fast-paced position where you will be pulled in many different directions at once. The day-to-day varies a lot, so you need to be able to adapt and pivot. You will be responsible for equipment and will need to be able to work with your hands and understand mechanical issues, as well as how things fit and wear. This role requires strong motivation to stay at GM long-term and the ability to be a self-starter. You must be able to handle confrontation and think critically to solve problems. The positions are for the "inside" department (Prime booth topcoat booth) and the "outside" department (Paint, mix, sealer area). The "outside" role involves robots supplied with paint, testing paint for temperature, and programming, pumps, and motors. The "inside" role is mostly automation with over 100 robots. The "outside" department has a hybrid automation scale with 30-35 robots, a p system, and large tanks. Basic chemistry knowledge is needed for the "outside" role. This role is essentially three roles in one: supervisor (group leader), in charge of their own maintenance for their equipment, and understanding the engineering side of how the equipment works. You will give a lot of direction to the technicians.

Requirements

• Technical Degree strongly required
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• At least 8 years of experience preferred
• Ability to work weekends and long hours and holidays is a MUST
• Ability to be to work early and on time
• Ability to work with their hands and understand mechanical issues
• Ability to understand how things fit and wear
• Ability to adapt and pivot
• Ability to handle confrontation
• Ability to think and solve problems

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma with a lot of experience on resume
