This position is located at the Advanced Technology and Training Center (ATTC) – Dayton, OH at the University of Dayton Research Institute. It provides process engineering support for aircraft and vehicle sustainment technology development and transition including vehicle maintenance, aircraft maintenance and ground support equipment. Under the leadership of a technical leader, this role will manage the overall manufacturing process at the Dayton ATTC, evaluate processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement, and work with manufacturing team leads and operators to assist in existing processes. The role involves creating process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates, executing Lean Projects to improve efficiency and effectiveness, and ensuring operations comply with safety and quality standards. Additionally, it includes managing maintenance and preventative maintenance of all equipment, developing standardized operating instructions, and developing and managing training packages for each role within the process. The position also serves as a resource for materials testing jobs, completes CNC programming for multi-axis machines, performs technical scouting for next-generation processes, and may require traveling between customer sites, offices, or job locations.
