This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a vibrant and hardworking team of engineers and specialists, you will be responsible for developing and supporting the New Glenn rocket assembly processes. New Glenn is a single configuration heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of carrying people and payloads routinely to Earth orbit and beyond. Featuring a reusable first stage built for 25 missions, New Glenn will build a road to space. You will directly support New Glenn’s as well as Blue Origin’s success through leading the development and creation of manufacturing bill of materials (mBOM), change notice submittal, work order & instructions authoring, design for manufacturability, engineering change implementation, non-conformance processing, BOM reconciliation, and work order execution, and process specifications. You will also be responsible for providing oversight for the creation and maintenance of manufacturing plans and authoring and executing work orders for outplant processing. In addition you will maintain and communicate manufacturing engineering metrics and schedules. Including creating, interpreting, and modifying work instructions and routings to convey procedures to technicians and trigger material planning. Throughout the manufacturing process, you will also identify, develop, and deploy methods to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize build sequence and schedules. Requirements

• HS/GED/Equiv required.
• Hardware manufacturing experience with structures, fluid systems, mechanical systems, or avionics systems, including but not limited to: assembly, integration, instrumentation, cleaning, non-destructive testing, leak testing, machining, welding, surface coatings, harness/cable routings, or composite structures.
• Develop manufacturing work instructions to clearly define the following manufacturing process: fabrication, assembly, test, integration, and refurbishment.
• Need a sound understanding of Electrical Theory and Avionics or Electrical wiring schematics and interest to learn various Cable Harness fabrication processes, equipment, fixturing, and testing required for the role.
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals for Avionics Electro-mechanical design and manufacturing, including knowledge of GD&T, Electrical Theory Fundamentals, and NEC with IEC/IPC/WHMA-A-610, 620 and J-STD-001 Electronic Acceptability Industry Standards.
• Need to be willing to work the B shift schedule and capable of working effectively with limited supervision oversight to accomplish tasks assigned.
• Closely manage quality, build sequence, and schedule of hardware throughout the entire manufacturing process.
• Perform engineering drawing and electrical schematics review and provide final approval for manufacturing.
• Define and support repair and rework activities.
• Perform root cause analyses when non-conformances and escapes are identified and deploy corrective actions.
• Design proper material handling and packaging to protect hardware throughout the build and test process.
• Manage hardware configuration and maintain pedigree throughout the entire build and test process.
• Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including working knowledge of GD&T.
• Experience prioritizing hardware procurement and fabrication and communicating these priorities to the team.
• Understanding of Project Management, Lean Six Sigma or lean methods at least at Green or Yellow Belt Level.
• Intermediate experience with P6 or other GANTT-style project management tools
• Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Scheduling, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).
• Ability to develop processes compliant to industry quality systems such as AS9100 and IEC/IPC/WHMA-A-610, 620 and J-STD-001 Electronic Acceptability Industry Standards.

• Associate Degree or trade school in related discipline and/or 7+ years of manufacturing planner, or production experience or a combination of education and experience
• Experience with aircraft, launch vehicle, spacecraft, or satellite development, production, or operations with building flight electronic hardware
• Proficient in writing work instructions at a high pace.
• Strong technical knowledge in one or more disciplines
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma processes and implementation at Yellow to Black Belt Level.
• Expert understanding of GD&T, Electrical Fundamentals, and IEC/IPC/WHMA-A-610, 620 and J-STD-001 Electronic Acceptability Industry Standards.
• Self-directed and able to balance several tasks at once

• Proficient with Computer Aided Design, Manufacturing & CAD Software (MATLAB/SIMULINK/ANSYS, Jules, CMES, Velocity, Enovia, Delmia, CATIA, CREO, Etc.)
• Must be physically able to: Support production floor activities. Climb stairs and work in small areas. Lift and carry 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the manufacturing of complex avionics devices and harnesses.
• Interpret and translating engineering documents intent and schematics or drawings into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight by crafting avionics manufacturing bill of materials and work instructions.
• Maintain cognizance of ~4000 distinct parts throughout various stages of manufacturing.
• Maintain documentation pedigree to support human rated flight avionics.
• Develop internal specifications required to support the manufacture of device and harness assemblies.
• Take ownership of a complex production schedule that will support multiple programs needs simultaneously.
• Supporting introduction of new products by crafting manufacturing plan artifacts including build plans, duration estimates, index plans, and tool lists
• Leads at the cell level the development, implementation, and maintenance of various manufacturing plans, Bill of Materials, work instructions, and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration of major production hardware
• Leads at the cell level the development and integration of suppliers, processes, materials, data, and technology to meet manufacturing flight avionics and harness equipment and hardware to meet delivery requirements.
• Leads the reviewing of supplier data to ensure manufacturing-related requirements are met.
• Develops tooling requirements and initiates tooling orders based on manufacturing and engineering requirements.
• Leads tooling dispositions.
• Leads the Investigation of and resolves manufacturing-related issues of a broad scope.
• Participates in producibility assessments for part or product designs.
• Provides input to design, manufacturing processes, and manufacturing technologies to meet costs and schedules at the cell level
• Develops work statements and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments for major hardware.
• Reviews, maintains and monitoring of internal documents and schedules
• Provides shipside support
• Functions as an individual contributor or as part of a cross functional team.
• Helps train junior teammates.
