About The Position

PIM Brands is seeking a Manufacturing Performance Leader to join their Operations department at their Somerset, New Jersey site. This role is responsible for driving improvements in safety, quality, cost, delivery, productivity, and employee engagement, serving as the plant's operational excellence leader and subject matter expert. The position involves partnering with various departments to develop and execute continuous improvement initiatives, championing methodologies like Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), High Performance Work Systems (HPWS), and digital manufacturing solutions, including Redzone. The successful candidate will supervise at least one employee and contribute to growing iconic snack and confectionery brands in a collaborative, dynamic, and fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience within the food and beverage manufacturing industry.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience creating and implementing: Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, One-Point Lessons (OPLs).
  • Experience implementing and deploying Redzone or similar manufacturing data-driven platforms at both shop floor and management levels.
  • Experience working with: SAP S/4HANA, SAP Analytics, Rockwell FactoryTalk.
  • Experience creating KPI dashboards and performance reporting systems.
  • Statistical Analysis Software: Minitab, JMP.
  • Process & Project Management Tools: Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project.
  • Advanced Analytics & Reporting: Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables), Tableau, Power BI, SQL.
  • Extensive knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, performance improvement processes, and operational excellence methodologies.
  • Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence all levels of the organization, from hourly associates to executive leadership.
  • Proven ability to build strong partnerships and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated success coaching leaders and frontline employees in continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance guidance to Manufacturing Performance Engineers regarding operational excellence best practices.
  • Partner with the Plant Leadership Team to develop annual Continuous Improvement strategies, KPI targets, and plant improvement plans.
  • Identify, prioritize, and execute improvement projects aligned with business objectives and financial targets.
  • Develop implementation roadmaps and ensure sustainability of improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Finance to validate project savings, productivity gains, and business impacts.
  • Lead plant-wide continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity enhancement, waste elimination, process flow optimization, labor efficiency improvement, and digital transformation/manufacturing technology adoption.
  • Drive deployment and sustainment of manufacturing improvement platforms, including Redzone.
  • Collaborate with SAP teams to integrate SAP systems with Redzone productivity and reliability modules.
  • Monitor and improve key operational metrics, including OEE, Productivity, Labor Efficiency, Scrap Reduction, Service Levels, and Delivery Performance.
  • Build Continuous Improvement capabilities across all levels of the organization.
  • Coach leaders on behaviors that reinforce a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Promote servant leadership principles, High Performance Work Systems (HPWS), and Gemba Walk practices.
  • Support change management activities to ensure initiatives are successfully adopted, sustained, and integrated into daily operations.
  • Lead CI training programs and Lean Six Sigma certification development pathways.
  • Support plant management on food safety and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activities.
  • Facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations to resolve quality and operational issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) requirements.
  • Support internal control procedures and operational standards development.
  • Partner with Maintenance and Utilities teams to improve equipment reliability and operational readiness.
  • Analyze downtime drivers, preventive maintenance effectiveness, and energy consumption performance.
  • Develop reliability standards through TPM methodologies and breakdown analysis training.
  • Support flawless execution of new product introductions and production modifications in partnership with R&D and Project Management teams.
