About The Position

Sheridan is hiring a full-time Manufacturing Operator for its printing operation. The role involves setting up and operating single- and multi-color offset printing presses to produce books, catalogs, magazines, and other printed materials. No print industry experience is required; paid, hands-on training is provided. This is a third-shift position, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math, including working with fractions and decimals.
Mechanical aptitude and interest in working with equipment.
Attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
Ability to read and follow job specifications and make equipment adjustments as needed.
Ability to work well with others and maintain a positive attitude.
Ability to stand for long periods and frequently use hands to operate equipment.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with moving equipment and varying noise levels, and to wear required PPE, including hearing protection and safety footwear.

Nice To Haves

Experience with press operations.
Prior experience using a pallet jack, computer, hand tools, or small machines.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate single- and multi-color offset printing presses.
Read job instructions and prepare the press for each project.
Install printing plates, adjust registration, and prepare the press for production.
Make color and quality adjustments to ensure jobs meet standards.
Monitor equipment during production and troubleshoot minor issues.
Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and minor repairs on presses.
Work safely and collaborate with the team.
