This role is for a Manufacturing Operator IV in Kitchen Prep on the 2nd shift.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 6 months of Amy’s experience or demonstrated previous machine operator experience.
  • Able to read simple instructions.
  • Able to complete simple forms.
  • Able to verbally communicate with supervisor.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers.
  • Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.
  • Stand for extended periods.
  • Perform manual dexterity activities.
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • This role may be used as a training prerequisite for a higher-level Machine Operator position.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machine(s) as defined in the Machine Operator Manual and following all safety procedures.
  • Perform simple changeover and set up.
  • Load supplies and make adjustments to semi-automated machine(s).
  • Ensure the machine works properly, utilizing the correct materials for the product and keeping the equipment running.
  • Demonstrate a detailed understanding of the quality requirements for the products being produced and make adjustments as necessary to achieve maximum quality.
  • Troubleshoot equipment effectively and appropriately seek assistance of a trained mechanic.
  • Clearly communicate equipment problems to the mechanic and ask questions if necessary.
  • Report any problem with the equipment or supplies to their supervisor or team leader.
  • Set up equipment at the beginning and during the shift.
  • Bring supplies to the area and ensure correct supplies are used.
  • Operate control panel.
  • Document operations by completing all required forms.
  • When machine issues arise, call the mechanic and explain the problem.
  • Make sure the product is sealed and has the correct code (if applicable).
  • Change packaging materials to avoid downtime and identify sub-standard materials and supplies.
  • Operate machine in a safe manner.
  • Communicate to supervisor/ team leader any machine or process problems in a timely manner.
  • Perform consistent clean-up and stock of area and general housekeeping tasks as it relates to respective area in order to provide a clean and safe work environment.
  • Work well in a team-oriented atmosphere.
  • Comply with the policies outlined in the Amy’s handbook.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
