Requirements

At least 6 months of Amy’s experience or demonstrated previous machine operator experience.
Able to read simple instructions.
Able to complete simple forms.
Able to verbally communicate with supervisor.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers.
Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.
Stand for extended periods.
Perform manual dexterity activities.
Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

This role may be used as a training prerequisite for a higher-level Machine Operator position.

Responsibilities

Operate machine(s) as defined in the Machine Operator Manual and following all safety procedures.
Perform simple changeover and set up.
Load supplies and make adjustments to semi-automated machine(s).
Ensure the machine works properly, utilizing the correct materials for the product and keeping the equipment running.
Demonstrate a detailed understanding of the quality requirements for the products being produced and able to make adjustments as necessary to achieve maximum quality.
Troubleshoot equipment effectively and appropriately seeking assistance of a trained mechanic.
Clearly communicate equipment problems to the mechanic and asking questions if necessary.
Report any problem with the equipment or supplies to their supervisor or team leader.
Set up equipment at the beginning and during the shift.
Bring supplies to the area and ensure correct supplies are used.
Operate control panel.
Document operations by completing all required forms.
When machine issues arise, call the mechanic and explain the problem.
Make sure the product is sealed and has the correct code (if applicable).
Change packaging materials to avoid downtime and identify sub-standard materials and supplies.
Operate machine in a safe manner.
Communicate to supervisor/ team leader any machine or process problems in a timely manner.
Consistent clean-up and stock of area perform general housekeeping tasks as it relates to respective area in order to provide a clean and safe work environment.
Work well in a team-oriented atmosphere.
Comply with the policies outlined in the Amy’s handbook.
Perform other duties as assigned.
