About The Position

As a Manufacturing Operator II at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will be part of a global team dedicated to making a positive impact by enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. This role is within the Microbiology Division, which offers solutions and workflows for food, clinical, and pharmaceutical environments, manufacturing and distributing culture media and microbiological diagnostic products. Your primary responsibility will be to execute the production process by strictly adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Standard Work Instruction Documents, covering assembly, materials handling, equipment operation, and finished goods' packaging.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ year of previous work experience required
  • Communicate efficiently in English, both verbal and written
  • Understand and perform basic math

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience in manufacturing, operations, production or lab setting or related field
  • Experience in a cGMP environment

Responsibilities

  • Follow all written procedures and report discrepancies in procedures (SOP’s, DHR’s, etc.) to the Area Supervisor
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when needed
  • Refer to job specific job Safety Analysis
  • Perform all work activities in a safe manner
  • Maintain a safe and clutter free work area
  • Clean up all spills immediately
  • Listen to, follow and relay written and verbal instructions in English
  • Report property damage and /or safety hazards to the Supervisor, Human Resources, Safety Specialist or Senior Management immediately
  • Document accurately and check personal work for quality and compliance
  • Continuously supervise product for defects
  • Efficiently and safely operate assigned machinery and perform simple maintenance, make necessary adjustments and report malfunctioning equipment immediately to Supervisor or Lead
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area which includes all assigned equipment
  • Read, understand, and complete required documentation
  • All paperwork shall be accurately and neatly completed in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Set up and adjust machine to operate a variety of sizes and types using tools to adjust machine
  • Actively engage in making suggestions for process improvement
  • Encourage an atmosphere of partnership
