About The Position

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Manager 2 for the Sentinel program, located in Ogden, UT. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. The Manufacturing Operations Manager 2 is accountability to the Manufacturing Operations Manager 3. As the Manager of Manufacturing Operations 2, your team will oversee and manage the manufacturing and operational aspects of multiple manufacturing, production, and prototyping at the Ogden Manufacturing Facility (OMF) in Ogden, Utah. Your team will be responsible for the safety of the employees, delivering quality products on time and within customer cost targets while maintaining a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing foundational processes, encompassing knowledge of shop floor processes and best practices (FOD/FOE control, ESD practices, 5S, Tool & Property control etc.), efficient material flow, product life cycle management, cost center structuring, manufacturing execution systems (MES) knowledge, product configuration management, traceability and government approval procedures for sell-off. In addition, the candidate will provide the people, skills, processes & training for successful achievement of program and division goals in the manufacturing and production environment. They will manage and present status on cost, schedule, and performance for all projects within the area; assess issues and develop mitigation plans to meet productivity, quality, cost, and delivery goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience, master’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience, or 4 years of relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in engineering or manufacturing.
  • 1+ years of experience leading manufacturing, production, or manufacturing integration.
  • Must have U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain an interim Secret Security level clearance pre-start, with the ability to obtain a final Secret Security level clearance post-start.
  • Must be able to attain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

  • Prior experience operating in a dynamic environment of increasing production schedules and high delivery rates.

  • Prior experience it program start-up.
  • Experience working with Systems Applications and Products (SAP).
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Management Plan requirements and transitioning to production.
  • Prior experience interfacing with prime contractor site leads and USAF leadership personnel.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams/and or organizations to achieve a common goal.
  • Ability to effectively work within a team environment.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance and applicable SAP accesses.
