This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 8 years of experience; or Master's degree with 6 years of experience.
  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
  • Demonstrated excellence in the field of structural analysis.
  • Experience in a technical leadership/management role.
  • Experience in writing and presenting technical content.
  • In depth familiarity with Abaqus, Ansys or Nastran.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree (MS) in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or Professional Engineer’s License.
  • Master’s degree in Business.
  • In depth familiarity with the majority of the following: Ansys, Abaqus, FEMAP, Nastran, LS-DYNA, MathCad, Matlab.
  • Strong experience leading teams and training others.
  • Experience with individual contributor performance assessments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Operates independently with limited to no supervision, and the ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers.
  • Able to assimilate information from multiple sources, create coherent plans and then execute those plans.
  • Exposure to structural test applications.
  • Experience with seismic analysis (ASCE 7).
  • Exposure to missiles program requirements & with propulsion.
  • TeamCenter CPLM experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working with customers to ensure project success.
  • Experience in performing in an Agile environment and knowledge/understanding of JIRA.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a growing team of structural analysis engineers and will be responsible for leading all managerial tasks relevant to structural analysis.
  • Work 80% of their time in the structural analysis engineering discipline, as directed by the Command and Launch Infrastructure program IPT Lead.
  • Establish, maintain, and facilitate communications, tasking, scheduling, and technical reviews with each individual contributor’s execution lead in Roy, UT.
  • Functional home room support, approximately 20% of the manager’s time will be focused on recruiting, staffing, retaining talent, weekly team meetings, bi-weekly 1:1 meetings, and holding performance review discussions.
  • Support relevant Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Community of Practice.
  • Analyzes, researches and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment and maintenance designs.
  • Analyzes damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling.
  • Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis.
