About The Position

Leidos’ Defense Sector / Manufacturing is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Analyst to join our Indirect Fire Protection Capability (IFPC) Team at our Platform Integration Facility located in Huntsville, AL. The Defense Sector / Manufacturing provides a diverse portfolio of systems, solutions, and services covering land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace for customers worldwide. Solutions for Defense include enterprise and mission IT, large-scale intelligence systems, command and control, geospatial and data analytics, cybersecurity, logistics, training, and intelligence analysis and operations support. This team is solving the world’s toughest security challenges for customers with “can’t fail” missions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Data Analytics, Finance, or a related discipline with 8–12 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree in a related field with 6–10 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting manufacturing operations, program management, business operations, or operational excellence in a complex production environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience developing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Experience improving business processes, standardizing workflows, and implementing data-driven operational improvements.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including preparing executive-level reports and presentations.
  • Experience working collaboratively across cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, and Program Management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a DoD, aerospace, or defense manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and program performance metrics.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Costpoint, SAP, Oracle).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Power Automate, Power Apps, SQL, Python, or other analytics and automation tools.
  • Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement certification.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze manufacturing and program data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that improve operational performance and support leadership decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and automated reports that provide visibility into production, labor, schedule, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Support Manufacturing Program Managers by providing data analysis, performance reporting, forecasting, and decision support for program execution.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce manual effort, and standardize manufacturing workflows.
  • Collect, validate, and integrate data from multiple business systems to ensure accurate, timely, and reliable reporting.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, Scheduling, and Program Management to solve operational challenges and drive cross-functional initiatives.
  • Prepare executive-level reports, presentations, and performance metrics for operations reviews, program management reviews, and leadership meetings.
  • Support continuous improvement and digital transformation initiatives through business intelligence, reporting automation, and data-driven process optimization.
