Requirements

  • Mold Setting experience required
  • Processing and Setting Molds experience required
  • Machine Operator experience required
  • Mechanical ability
  • Must be able to read and understand product and equipment caution or information labels
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
  • Ability to move in and out of presses, climb ladders, and torque bolts to 425 ft. lb
  • General knowledge of mold design and mold cooling system by layout
  • Knowledge of molding press control operations
  • Read, understand, and follow “Set Up Prep Checklist” & “Mold Setter General Guidelines”
  • Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled manufacturing environment
  • Complete LOTO Authorized Training
  • Complete Crane and Rigging Authorized Training
  • Complete Forklift Authorized Training
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply

  • Maintenance experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist to set scheduled molds in presses for production and sample orders
  • Connect up all water lines to molds to ensure proper cooling without delays occurring due to molds having to be re-watered
  • Set all switches on presses after molds are properly set in so that the press will be ready for cycling without delay
  • Properly set safety bars and switches
  • Set mold protection on all presses to eliminate mold damage
  • Spray all molds to be pulled out of presses with mold protection spray and remove from presses without any damage to molds or press
  • Clean up all excess equipment and supplies
  • To hang molds in press using extreme caution not to damage locating ring and/or other mold components
  • Clamping molds between platens insuring proper and sufficient clamps are used to keep mold from coming loose
  • Making certain that al molds requiring cool water have all the lines hooked up without loops
  • Cost control- taking care of hoses, clamps bolts and any other mold supply items to insure longer life
  • Housekeeping- picking up all clutter and tools- keeping mold supply cage clean and organized
  • Ensure that safety bars and switches are working properly, and work safely performing above functions
  • Sizing and cutting knock out bars and setting know out strike ¼ to ½” short of full stroke
  • Connects water and air lines: Red in and black out
  • Cut to proper length and not intersecting or rubbing machine parts when movement occurs
  • Comply or promote Company EHS policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned
