About The Position

The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for performing all duties safely, according to company safety policies and procedures, and wearing appropriate PPE. This role drives the 5S Housekeeping program, continuous improvement, creativity, and other company initiatives. The manager supports quality programs and initiatives, manages Supervisors, Leads, and Co-leads of various manufacturing areas, and ensures all manufacturing areas operate efficiently. They will interview candidates, make hiring and termination recommendations, conduct performance evaluations, and issue disciplinary actions. The position requires using sound judgment, data, and experience to make decisions, and developing and communicating the manufacturing schedule and plan. The manager ensures subordinates follow procedures for processing raw materials and other items. They champion the use, improvement, and training of the ERP/MRP system for inventory accuracy and other business needs. Responsibilities include scheduling and attending meetings, providing accurate information, offering solutions, and following up. The role involves creating, presenting, and communicating data and reports as needed. Travel for training, trade shows, etc., may be required. Support for other departments is expected to meet overall company objectives.

Requirements

  • Requires a degree or certification in Manufacturing Technology. May substitute degree or certification for a combination of training, education and/or work experience.
  • Requires 10 or more years of experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Must possess interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with Hestan employees as well as outside vendors, customers and contractors.
  • Requires leadership abilities and training experience.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English and follow directions.
  • Ability to create spreadsheets, word documents, charts, graphs and analyze data.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, as well as implementation and support.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing by use of email.
  • Requires a valid California driver’s license.
  • Must possess the mental and physical capacities necessary to perform the job duties.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other similar methodologies preferred.
  • Experience with Commercial or Residential cooking products is a plus.

  • Creating, presenting and communicating data and reports as needed.
  • Traveling for training, trade shows, etc., as required.
  • Supporting other departments as required in order to meet company’s overall objectives.
