About The Position

The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for overseeing various aspects of the manufacturing process, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. This role involves managing a team of supervisors and leads, developing production schedules, and championing company initiatives like 5S and continuous improvement. The manager will also be involved in hiring, performance evaluations, and collaborating with other departments to achieve overall company objectives. A key aspect of the role includes managing and improving the ERP/MRP system for inventory accuracy and other business needs. The position requires strong leadership, decision-making skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.

Requirements

  • Requires a degree or certification in Manufacturing Technology. May substitute degree or certification for a combination of training, education and/or work experience.
  • Requires 10 or more years of experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Must possess interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with Hestan employees as well as outside vendors, customers and contractors.
  • Requires leadership abilities and training experience.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English and follow directions.
  • Ability to create spreadsheets, word documents, charts, graphs and analyze data.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, as well as implementation and support.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing by use of email.
  • Requires a valid California driver’s license.
  • Must possess the mental and physical capacities necessary to perform the job duties.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other similar methodologies preferred.
  • Experience with Commercial or Residential cooking products is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Performing all duties safely, according to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Wearing appropriate PPE for all tasks that require them.
  • Working with Safety Committee personnel to identify and eliminate possible safety hazards.
  • Driving the 5S Housekeeping program, continuous improvement, creativity, and other company initiatives.
  • Supporting the Quality program and initiatives.
  • Managing Supervisors, Leads and Co-leads of various manufacturing areas.
  • Ensuring all Manufacturing areas work in a highly efficient manner at all times.
  • Interviewing candidates, making recommendations for hiring and terminations, conducting performance evaluations and issuing disciplinary actions when required.
  • Using sound judgment, data, and experience to make decisions.
  • Developing and communicating manufacturing schedule and plan.
  • Ensuring subordinates communicate and follow procedures for the proper processing of raw materials, parts and any other items required.
  • Championing use, improvement and training of ERP/MRP system as it pertains to Inventory accuracy and other business needs.
  • Scheduling and attending meetings as required, providing accurate information, providing solutions to challenges, and following-up.
  • Creating, presenting and communicating data and reports as needed.
  • Traveling for training, trade shows, etc. as required.
  • Supporting other departments as required in order to meet company’s overall objectives.
