About The Position

The Manufacturing Manager will own end-to-end manufacturing operations, focusing on daily performance across throughput, build quality, and on-time delivery. This role involves ensuring alignment between production schedules, labor capacity, materials, and equipment readiness. The manager will be accountable for manufacturing output and will lead and develop a team including Engineering Technicians, a Production Coordinator, and a Procurement Specialist. Key responsibilities include establishing clear accountability, building a high-ownership culture, partnering on production planning and execution, overseeing technical operations and build reliability, managing procurement and inventory, and developing scalable manufacturing processes. Success in the first six months will be measured by predictable production meeting schedule commitments, clear ownership across teams, improved build quality, a stabilized supply chain, and established SOPs to support scaling volume.

Requirements

6+ years of experience in manufacturing, hardware production, or operations leadership
Experience managing cross-functional teams across production, technical operations, and/or supply chain
Strong understanding of production planning, inventory, and procurement workflows
Experience in hardware assembly, robotics, or electromechanical systems preferred
Proven ability to improve throughput, quality, and operational efficiency
Hands-on leader comfortable working on the production floor
Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production tracking tools

Startup or high-growth manufacturing experience
Background in robotics, automation, or complex hardware systems
Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or DFM principles

Responsibilities

Own daily manufacturing performance and across throughput, build quality, and on-time delivery
Ensure alignment between production schedules, labor capacity, materials, and equipment readiness
Serve as the single point of accountability for manufacturing output
Lead and develop Engineering Technicians (assembly, testing, troubleshooting), Production Coordinator (production planning and scheduling), and Procurement Specialist (materials sourcing and inventory management)
Establish clear accountability, roles, and performance expectations
Build a high-ownership, execution-focused culture
Partner with the Production Coordinator to create and execute realistic production schedules
Translate demand forecasts into actionable build plans
Identify and resolve constraints across labor, materials, and tooling
Oversee system assembly, testing, and validation processes
Ensure consistent build quality and repeatability across units
Drive root cause analysis and resolution of production or field issues
Partner with engineering to implement design for manufacturability (DFM) improvements
Oversee procurement to ensure timely availability of components and materials
Optimize inventory levels and reduce excess or shortages
Build scalable systems for purchasing, vendor management, and forecasting
Design and implement SOPs for assembly, testing, and production workflows
Improve manufacturing efficiency, cycle time, and cost per unit
Build systems that scale with increasing production volume
