About The Position

As a Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for managing three distinct production floor areas to assure that proper safety, quality, and production KPIs are met across all shifts of production. The Manufacturing Manager will be required to manage and coordinate broad processes across different departments and functional teams. This role will maintain the company culture, values, and strategies by leading their teams in change efforts, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement initiatives, safety awareness, and fostering team and individual development. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) years' experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Experience in managing greater than 100 FTEs.
  • Experienced in Lean implementation, team building, quality control and assurance.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cross-functionally with other departments.
  • Demonstrated leadership, drive, and potential to assume higher levels of responsibility.
  • Accomplished in meeting production schedules, controlling, and improving production efficiency.
  • Proven strong organizational (prioritization and time management), problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge and experience with: Manufacturing software/ERP, MS Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, Teams and Word.
  • Basic math skills: ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • A valid and up to date passport, and the ability to occasionally travel domestically and internationally is required (including Canada and overseas).
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to affect change, consistently drive results, and influence all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to react with urgency to achieve objectives and deadlines despite obstacles and time pressures.
  • General understanding of manufacturing business principles and typical business practices.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment. This includes educating employees on hazard identification, correcting unsafe acts/conditions, facilitating safety meetings, performing safety inspections, investigating incidents, and driving corrective actions to completion.
  • Manages all aspects of personnel performance within the plant on evening shift. Ensures that job expectations, duties, responsibilities, authority, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws including staffing, training, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, investigating issues, and resolving problems.
  • Creates and implements plans to address skills gaps and provide training and development for direct reports to address department, individual, and business needs.
  • Handles sensitive and proprietary information in a confidential manner.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, accomplishing work results, and reporting results on shift production summaries.
  • Responsible for managing quality production and charged with collaborating with others to drive product related quality issues to resolution.
  • Encourages and promotes a plant culture of Continuous Improvement and Employee Involvement and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Fosters a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Leads continuous improvement activities, including 5S, visual workplace, cost and waste reductions.
  • Enforces company systems, standards, policies, and procedures and ensures consistency across shifts of operation.
  • Travel may be required periodically for training purposes to Canada and/or overseas.
  • Adhere to Quality Assurance System and Health and Safety policies.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
