About The Position

Responsible for overseeing the production process and ensuring that production orders are filled on time and that parts are produced to meet the specified quality levels. Make recommendations for equipment purchases and production layout. Plans and sets required staffing levels based upon open order and forecast data. Plans and coordinates manufacturing processes for new product introduction in conjunction with manufacturing engineers. Ensures manufacturing staff are properly trained and proficient in manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years of manufacturing experience.
  • General knowledge of manufacturing processes and practices.
  • Experience with assembly processes, metal stamping and machining, preferred.

  • Setting staffing levels for direct labor.
  • Ensuring a safe working environment is maintained and safety policies are enforced.
  • Ensuring that the facility is properly maintained.
  • Identifying and implementing cost reduction activities within the manufacturing area.
  • Hiring and managing production supervisors and production personnel.
  • Ensuring that production goals for efficiency and quality are met.
  • Reviewing production efficiency and utilization and taking actions to correct deficiencies.
  • Ensuring work instructions and other aids to manufacturing are up to date and provided to appropriate employees.
  • Ensuring all production personnel are properly trained to perform their functions.
  • Working with manufacturing engineers to set standard work rates.
  • Working closely with material planners to develop accurate scheduling processes.
  • Assisting with the physical inventory process.
  • Providing input and help to other departments as needed.
  • Ensuring cycle counts are performed and updated by manufacturing personnel in manufacturing areas as scheduled.
  • Assisting with estimating and quoting new business.
  • Participating in product innovation and encouraging employees to do the same.
