About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a First Line Manufacturing Manager (Level K) to join the Boeing Salt Lake Fabrication team in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role involves leading and managing manufacturing teams to achieve production schedules, quality standards, and cost targets. The manager will develop and implement manufacturing processes, workflows, and best practices to optimize efficiency and productivity, ensuring compliance with Boeing’s safety, quality, and environmental policies. Collaboration with engineering and design teams is crucial for supporting product development and resolving manufacturing issues. The position also drives continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to reduce waste and improve processes, while managing resources (labor, equipment, materials) to meet production demands. Key performance indicators (KPIs) will be monitored, and reports prepared for senior management. Additionally, the role oversees the training and development of manufacturing personnel and leads problem-solving efforts and root cause analysis for manufacturing defects or delays.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership."
  • 3+ years of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience applying continuous improvement tools and techniques
  • 3+ years of experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Able and willingness to work variable shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with aerospace manufacturing standards and certifications
  • Familiarity with Boeing production systems and tools
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficiency with manufacturing software, CMES, ADPP, Excell
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and safety standards

Responsibilities
