About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a First-Line Manufacturing Manager (Level K) to support 2nd Shift 737 Wings WSI in Renton, Washington. Successful candidates will have strong interpersonal and coaching skills that will further enable our business unit to embrace and elevate our values-based culture, optimize tools and key performance indicators. Manufacturing Operations embraces a safety and first pass quality culture requiring leaders at every level to be committed to our team members’ success. FOD-free product and clean as you go is vital to maintaining compliance, this also requires a steadfast commitment to our standards, our people and our customer. This position is about helping our teammates and peers elevate and accelerate our business while holding steadfast to our values.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of leadership experience (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership
  • 3+ years of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience applying continuous improvement tools and techniques
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Must be willing to work any shifts

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and /or informal leadership role
  • 1+ years of experience managing Key Performance Indicators within Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Manufacturing data
  • 3+ years in Manufacturing/Aerospace Management
  • 1+ years of experience using Boeing Production System (BPS)
  • Commitment to Go for Zero and Incident Injury Free (IIF) principles

Responsibilities

  • Manages IAM represented employees performing activities in multiple manufacturing disciplines
  • Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies
  • Acquires resources, provides technical management, leads process improvements and problem solving activities
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees
