About The Position

Midland Garage Door, a leader in the garage door industry for over 45 years, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join their growing team. This role involves performing maintenance on existing manufacturing equipment, as well as maintaining and building new equipment and tools. The technician will collaborate with various departments to ensure the highest quality product is produced.

Requirements

Ability to create and maintain relationships
Excellent communication skills
High level of attention to detail
Valid driver’s license
Welding/cutting metal experience
Solid mechanical aptitude with pneumatic and mechanical drive systems (chains, belts, bearings, gearboxes).
Ability to read electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and equipment manuals.
Practical, resourceful problem-solver who can fabricate a fix or fixture when a stock part isn't available.
Prompt, reliable attendance and the ability to respond to off-hours equipment issues as needed.
Ability to effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
High School or GED required.
2 years’ experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.
Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

Occasional forklift operation.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair automated production equipment, including Allen-Bradley PLC and Trio motion controls, pneumatic systems, roll forming lines, drives, and mechanical assemblies.
Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and controls-level faults using schematics and test equipment, escalating to OEMs or controls integrators as needed.
Fabricate necessary repair components to ensure timely machine repair.
Work with other departments to ensure high quality and efficient production.
Follow all safety protocols.
Champion an overall culture of teamwork and cooperation between locations and departments.
Provide assistance in all areas with a can-do attitude.
Demonstrate and uphold Midland Values: Service, Quality, and Integrity.
Assist in Production areas as requested.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management.
