About The Position

The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician will support 3rd shift production by troubleshooting and repairing equipment to ensure it is in safe and proper working condition. This role involves performing scheduled preventive maintenance, integrating with other maintenance professionals to meet production goals, and ensuring machine uptimes and process capabilities meet quality and production schedules. The technician will also be responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial electrical equipment and controls, including power distribution and complex machine control systems. Additionally, the role supports manufacturing engineering by fabricating and installing custom equipment, aids in developing training programs, and facilitates lean manufacturing techniques. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, maintaining a positive work environment, and adhering to company standards.

Requirements

  • 5 years related experience in production maintenance environment
  • Motor drive and PLC tech level experience
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation) and industrial power systems
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic power systems knowledge
  • Familiarity with various hand and maintenance shop tools -micrometers, calipers and tape measure, etc.
  • Experience with reading design drawings for the purpose of fabrication
  • Ability to read CAD drawings – mechanical / electrical
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics and fractions
  • MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with limited daily supervision

Responsibilities

  • Support 3rd shift production by troubleshooting and repairing equipment back to a safe and proper working condition.
  • Perform regularly scheduled Preventive Maintenance on equipment at multiple locations in coordination with the CMMS.
  • Interact with CMMS via PM’s, repairs and reporting information into the system for record keeping, tracking and measures.
  • Integrate with other maintenance professionals in support of multi-shift production operation to achieve output, quality and financial performance goals and objectives.
  • Ensure machine uptimes and process capabilities will meet quality and production schedules.
  • Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls.
  • Installation of power distribution equipment as needed including sub panels, conduit, wiring, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain complex machine control systems including drives, relays, machine network, and PLC systems.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical systems such as motors, gearboxes, and other power transmission systems.
  • Participate in the management of critical spare parts inventory to ensure availability as needed.
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering by fabricating, debugging and installing custom designed equipment via the use of machining centers (lathes, CNC), plasma cutting, welding and other equipment.
  • Aid in the development and maintain maintenance training programs.
  • Facilitate and support the deployment of lean manufacturing techniques on all projects in support of lean culture and elimination of 8 wastes.
  • Demonstrate a “Safety First” approach to all projects and day to day activities.
  • Maintain a positive work environment to ensure a good employee experience.
  • Know and demonstrate LOTO methodology.
  • Willing to work OT and weekends as required or needed.
