About The Position

The Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the operational efficiency of machinery and mechanical equipment through preventive maintenance and timely repairs. This role involves troubleshooting malfunctions, fabricating parts, managing inventory, and maintaining a safe working environment. The position requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This is a full-time position on the second shift.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Prior field related experience
Ability to pass required company tests; required to maintain and show proficiency during probationary training
Previous experience in electrical engineering or other related fields
Familiarity with electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals
Familiarity with electrical equipment and hand tools
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Solid understanding of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and plumbing
Proficient in reading and writing
Troubleshoot motor and control systems
Perform routine maintenance on electrical wiring and systems
Adhere to all quality and safety codes

Welding and cutting skills preferred

Responsibilities

Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
Troubleshoots malfunctions by locating sources of problems, observing mechanical devices, listening for issues, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Removes defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools, and examining parts for defects.
Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
Controls downtime by conducting routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt.
Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks.
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
