Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic II
About The Position
As a Maintenance Mechanic II, you will be ensuring the operation of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic equipment and completing preventative maintenance. This role is located at the Clackamas Dairy Plant and requires additional support. The hourly pay rate for this role is up to $36.97, and candidates must meet all requirements for this rate. The work schedule is 3rd shift/graveyard from 10 pm to 6:30 am, 5 days a week, 8 hours a day. The worker must be open to working at least one weekend day and overtime. There is a possibility for this assignment to be extended and to convert to full-time employment. Upon conversion to full-time, the candidate must join the onsite union and be eligible for indefinite employment without limited work authorization.
Requirements
- High School Degree or equivalent
- 5+ years in a manufacturing/production environment
- Experience with mechanical and/or electrical repair require
- You have knowledge of fabrication, machine shop tools, hydraulics and/or pneumatics
- You have ability to read and follow schematics, electrical diagrams, and blueprints
- Candidate must be eligible to be employed for an indefinite duration with out limited work authorization.
Nice To Haves
- LME (Limited Maintenance Electrical) License preferred
- OSHA 10/CPR nice to have
Responsibilities
- Observes all company safety policies and procedures as well as maintain good housekeeping, GMP and Global Food Safety practices
- Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Identification of complex problems with mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic issues on all associated equipment (conveyors, compressors, chillers, programmable controllers, robots); review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them- checking blueprints- repair manuals- or parts catalogues- as necessary
- Dismantle and reassemble machines to fit or replace necessary parts
- Able to understand and complete Preventative Maintenance based on Preventative Maintenance schedules
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed
- Responsive to maintenance requests in a timely manner and complete maintenance reports as required
- Maintain plant equipment to ensure maximum efficiency
- Ability to work with vendors and/or contractors as required
- Ensure spare parts or services are ordered as required
- Implement operational improvements (spoilage, downtime, line speeds, etc.)
- Train others to operate equipment and produce products safely and efficiently
- Maintain organization of spare parts
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor
- Complete special projects and duties as assigned
- Continuously monitor and physically inspect production equipment
- Rebuild/ fabrication of equipment
- Welding mild and stainless steel
- Complete work orders
- Maintain logs and records
- Investigates electrical and instrument equipment failures and develops action plans to eliminate repetitive failures
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of the role
