About The Position

Kennametal is seeking a Manufacturing Machine Operator I for its Centerless Grinding operation. The role sets up and operates an automated grind line to produce quality products. The operator selects orders based on priorities provided by the area lead or supervisor, measures raw materials, and ensures parts meet quality specifications through in-process audits. The operator follows established procedures to verify the grind lines are operating correctly, troubleshoots equipment and quality issues, documents production and nonconforming products, performs housekeeping and routine machine maintenance, and may train new operators. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents to be considered.

Responsibilities

• Select orders based on priorities provided by the area lead or supervisor.
• Measure raw materials before processing and ensure parts meet quality specifications by performing in-process audits during cycle runs.
• Follow established procedures for running and checking grind lines to ensure systems are operating correctly.
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot moderate to complex problems on centerless grinders, the infeed robot cell, and the chamfer robot cell to maintain output and produce parts to specifications.
• Read and understand blueprints and resolve issues related to quality specifications.
• Separate, identify, and report nonconforming product from good product, and document accurately on provided paperwork and in the MII reporting system.
• Perform daily housekeeping responsibilities and routine machine maintenance using the CLI checklist.
• Train new operators when required.
• Perform other job duties as assigned by the area lead or supervisor.
