Requirements

  • Ability to walk the entire shift on concrete floor
  • Good shoulder and arm strength
  • Must be able to learn and identify the many different incoming materials by sight and code
  • Must be able to work flexible hours with occasional mandatory overtime
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds with and without a partner

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for moving raw materials from storage areas and material supermarkets, as well as components from production areas, to designated workstations to support efficient mattress assembly operations.
  • Perform a variety of tasks to ensure materials are distributed to the production team accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Review material placement plans and production schedules to prioritize daily workload and ensure correct materials are delivered to the assembly line.
  • Utilize a rolling cart to collect, organize, and transport materials; deliver completed orders to the glue bridge staging area.
  • Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds from carts to a 20-inch-high mattress assembly line (team lifting assistance available for larger items such as king and queen base units).
  • Sort and place materials on the mattress assembly line according to predetermined sequences (e.g., size, type, style, color, or product code).
  • Record quantities of damaged or substituted materials and report discrepancies as needed.
  • Communicate and respond professionally to coworkers’ requests to support team productivity.
  • Maintain cleanliness of assigned work areas, including proper disposal of scrap material in the baler.
  • Operate the baler safely in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.
