About The Position

Toyota’s Manufacturing IT Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Manufacturing Business Lead. The primary responsibility of this role is to serve as the liaison between Manufacturing Business Users and the Applications delivery program. This role will lead business engagement efforts with shopfloor stakeholders to understand production processes, document requirements, and ensure alignment between business needs and application solution design. Reporting to the Applications Delivery Product Owner, the person in this role will support the Manufacturing IT department’s objective to deliver scalable, high-performance MES solutions that enable efficient production operations. This position is based in the Battery Plant, Liberty, NC. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within a commutable distance of this location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of business analysis experience, including at least 3 years in manufacturing or production environments
  • Strong understanding of shopfloor operations (e.g., work instructions, production sequencing, labor/machine reporting)
  • Experience documenting business requirements and functional specifications for enterprise applications
  • Experience working with MES/MOM systems (Siemens OpCenter preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in automotive or battery manufacturing environments
  • Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement background
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments and tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps)
  • Exposure to integrations between MES, ERP, and shopfloor systems (e.g., PLCs, SCADA)

Responsibilities

  • Partner with shopfloor leaders, operators, and supervisors to understand day-to-day production workflows
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and process mapping sessions to capture current-state and future-state processes
  • Document business requirements, user stories, and functional specifications for Manufacturing applications.
  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements for development teams
  • Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and solution architects to ensure requirements are implemented effectively
  • Validate system designs and configurations against manufacturing requirements
  • Identify opportunities for process standardization and optimization using MES capabilities
  • Support development of training materials and operational documentation for manufacturing users
  • Communicate system changes and impacts to shopfloor stakeholders
  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and frontline users to support adoption and minimize disruption
  • Represent manufacturing in Agile ceremonies such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, and demos
  • Maintain requirements traceability throughout the lifecycle of each release
  • Support UAT planning and execution by reviewing test cases and validating system functionality
