BEV Quality Lead
About The Position
Toyota’s Manufacturing IT Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Application Business Lead who will support Quality operations. The primary responsibility of this role is to serve as the liaison between Quality Operations and the Application Delivery program. This role will lead business engagement efforts to understand quality processes, document requirements, and ensure alignment between business needs and solution design. Reporting to the Applications Delivery Product Owner, the person in this role will support the Manufacturing IT department’s objective to deliver high-quality, scalable MES solutions that enable efficient and compliant quality operations. This position is based in the Battery Plant, in Liberty, NC. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within a commutable distance of this location.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of business analysis experience, including at least 3 years supporting manufacturing or quality systems
- Strong understanding of manufacturing quality processes (e.g., defect tracking, non-conformance management, SPC)
- Experience documenting business processes and functional requirements for enterprise applications
- Experience working with MES/MOM systems (Siemens OpCenter preferred)
Nice To Haves
- Experience in automotive or battery manufacturing environments
- Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent process improvement experience
- Experience using requirements management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
Responsibilities
- Lead business engagement with Quality Operations stakeholders and subject matter experts
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and process mapping sessions to capture current and future state workflows
- Document detailed business requirements, use cases, and functional specifications for Quality Application Modules
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements and user stories
- Collaborate with developers, testers, and solution architects to ensure requirements are clearly understood and implemented
- Validate that system configurations align with documented business needs through functional reviews and UAT support
- Identify opportunities to standardize and optimize quality processes using MES capabilities
- Support development of training materials, SOPs, and user guides related to quality processes
- Communicate system changes, enhancements, and impacts to Quality Operations teams
- Maintain requirements traceability and manage changes throughout the project lifecycle
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and demos
- Support testing efforts by reviewing test cases and validating end-to-end quality workflows
