About The Position

In a manufacturing environment, the Manufacturing ERP Specialist is the backbone of daily operations and frontline IT support. This role supports and enhances the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system while also providing general IT support to ensure reliable systems, accurate data flow, and strong user adoption across the organization. The ERP Specialist partners closely with Production, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Finance, Quality, HR, and external service providers to maintain system integrity, streamline workflows, reduce errors, improve productivity, and support company growth. This position provides hands‑on ERP and IT support to employees at all levels and serves as a key liaison with third‑party technology vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing experience in a similar ERP or IT‑support‑focused role.
  • Experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment (e.g., Epicor, SAP, Infor, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as production planning, inventory control, purchasing, and order management.
  • Experience providing general IT support in a small to mid‑sized organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyze issues and recommend practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to support and train users with varying technical skill levels.
  • Detail‑oriented, well‑organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Basic project coordination skills with the ability to manage tasks and timelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands‑on experience with Epicor ERP.
  • Experience with cloud‑based ERP systems and SaaS environments.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing users on shop‑floor or production systems.
  • Familiarity with user provisioning, basic networking concepts, and endpoint management.
  • Experience supporting onboarding/offboarding processes in collaboration with HR.

Responsibilities

  • Enter, update, and validate ERP data across manufacturing, inventory, purchasing, and sales modules.
  • Perform routine and ad‑hoc data cleanup to ensure system integrity and compliance with internal standards.
  • Develop, run, and distribute operational and analytical reports to support business decision‑making.
  • Identify data inconsistencies and collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to diagnose and resolve root causes.
  • Maintain data accuracy by developing, documenting, and enforcing ERP data standards.
  • Analyze existing ERP workflows to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and user experience.
  • Propose process enhancements and system improvements to the ERP Administrator.
  • Document business processes, ERP configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist with testing and validation of ERP changes, updates, and enhancements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for ERP‑related questions, issues, and system errors.
  • Provide general day‑to‑day IT support for users, including basic troubleshooting of computers, peripherals, and applications.
  • Assist in the development, documentation, and delivery of ERP and IT training materials.
  • Conduct ERP and IT training sessions for new hires and provide ongoing training for existing users.
  • Promote ERP and IT best practices to ensure consistent, effective system use across departments.
  • Track and maintain inventory of all IT assets, including computers, monitors, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Ensure all IT equipment is properly labeled, assigned, and tracked using asset tags and inventory records.
  • Coordinate with third‑party IT providers as needed for escalated support and system maintenance.
  • Assist with software provisioning, licensing tracking, updates, and basic workstation configuration.
  • Oversee third‑party management of the company phone system and coordinate support, changes, and upgrades.
  • Serve as the internal point of contact for technology vendors and service providers.
  • Assist with vendor issue tracking, access coordination, and service follow‑ups.
  • Support HR with employee onboarding by preparing IT systems, user accounts, hardware, and access.
  • Assist with employee offboarding by ensuring timely removal of system access and recovery of IT assets.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities to ensure security, consistency, and documentation.
