About The Position

The summer Manufacturing Internship supports production preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, continuous improvement, and safety initiatives. The intern will collaborate with Process Engineering to evaluate production-line mechanical components, help develop preventive maintenance schedules, and contribute to projects aimed at improving efficiency, reducing downtime and scrap, and addressing recurring equipment issues. The role offers hands-on experience and meaningful project ownership in a manufacturing environment focused on sustainable packaging solutions.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program, ideally focused on Manufacturing/Engineering, Polymer and/or Food Science, or Supply Chain.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Process Engineering to support production preventive maintenance (PM) activities.
• Evaluate mechanical components of production lines to identify maintenance needs and improvement opportunities.
• Assist in developing weekly, monthly, and annual preventive maintenance schedules.
• Support efforts to improve equipment reliability, prevent downtime, and address root causes of recurring issues.
• Participate in production improvement and scrap reduction projects to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Assist with Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives and safety projects to enhance operational performance and workplace safety.
