Manufacturing Intern - On Site
About The Position
The Manufacturing Engineering Intern role undertakes a variety of on-going activities and assigned projects at varying levels of professional complexity, requiring knowledge within an area of specialty and/or engineering college major. The Manufacturing Engineering Intern works as a member of the Manufacturing team in support of tasks including conducting studies, creating/updating work instructions, projects related to process improvement, and other projects that benefit Operations. You are a self-starter who can work in a fast-paced environment and possess an excellent work ethic.
Requirements
- Actively pursuing a degree in one of the following: Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals with the ability to read, converse, and understand technical English.
- Strong ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Mechanically inclined and have experience with powered hand tools.
- Can read schematics and possess good dexterity in hands/fingers.
- Physically, you must be able to stand, walk and lift up to 40 lbs consistently.
Responsibilities
- Undertake and successfully complete project improvement tasks.
- Perform work instruction creation and modifications.
- Perform time studies.
- Create test plans for projects and write reports to document the results.
- Support improvement requests as part of continuous improvement efforts.
- Communicate project needs with vendors and cross-functional team members.
