About The Position

Vulcan Elements is hiring a Manufacturing Instructor to deliver classroom, simulation, and hands-on equipment training for employees entering advanced magnet manufacturing roles at Johnston County Community College (JCC). The instructor delivers approved curriculum, demonstrates production and training equipment, and supervises learners as they practice required tasks. Before operating equipment or supervising hands-on activities, the instructor must complete the applicable machine-specific qualifications. The role collaborates with subject-matter experts in Operations, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, EHS, and Warehouse/Logistics to keep training accurate, safe, and aligned with approved procedures. The instructor teaches manufacturing fundamentals, safety, quality, material control, technical concepts, production processes, and equipment operation; assesses learners and maintains qualification and completion records; and supports curriculum improvements, scheduling, classroom preparation, pilot-site visits, and future training cohorts. The instructor must protect confidential, proprietary, customer-sensitive, and export-controlled information. The position requires regular presence on the production floor and the ability to navigate all areas of the facility, climb stairs, and stand and walk for extended periods. Work environments may be hot, humid, or noisy. The instructor must use required PPE, including respirators, complete required fit testing, follow applicable safety policies and procedures, and respond safely to changing production conditions. The instructor may evaluate learner performance but may authorize independent equipment operation only if designated under the approved qualification process. Responsibilities may change according to business needs. The role may be shared or positioned across Workforce Strategy and Development team positions based on needs and performance.
