About The Position

General Motors (GM) is seeking Industrial Engineer interns for hands-on work that can directly contribute to the company's bottom line. The role involves analyzing the efficiency of manufacturing operations and changes related to personnel, materials, machines, and facilities. This position requires leadership ability, critical thinking, and communication skills, with decision-making guided by mentorship from supervisors.

Requirements

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering.
  • Must be graduating between August 2027 and June 2029.
  • Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Must be willing to work in a plant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Confirms or recommends changes to layouts, labor control and/or material control.
  • Frequent contact with others outside the work group.
  • Assists in developing accurate methods and optimum operation layout.
  • Makes operation descriptions and performs the vital calculations to complete studies and change routines or other systems of labor and material control.
