Lead the specification and delivery of facility and infrastructure to support Ford product programs, from simultaneous engineering through program launch for all Global sites. This building and facilities engineering position is responsible for leading the planning and oversight of equipment installation, designing facilities and infrastructure to support manufacturing equipment, and directly leading support equipment launch and commissioning. The role involves working as part of a diverse team with process, safety, controls, Ford Land, and plant engineers, as well as external engineering and installation contractors to successfully launch manufacturing systems. The position requires driving, tracking, and reporting status and progress to peers and leadership, ensuring the identification and capture of lessons learned and their application to new programs, as well as their impact on existing strategies and standards. The role includes leading simultaneous engineering meetings with Tier I suppliers to orchestrate equipment installation during program reviews, participating in management program reviews, and representing the Facilities and Infrastructure organization in commodity discussions. The engineer will define the scope of Equipment Installation, contract appropriate resources, and direct the activities of the Installation contractor or internal trades to install and power on equipment according to the required program master timing. Coordination with Ford Land activities to ensure Central utilities support PTME demands, delivery of new model program work for various Powertrain programs, and working with Federal, State, and Local jurisdictions for necessary building permits and inspections are key responsibilities. The role also involves liaison with Ford Corporate Fire Protection, obtaining Architectural and Certified Stamped drawings, coordinating structural lifting device certification, procuring installation materials, and coordinating/tracking Program Facilities Funding. On-site support, including hands-on work with equipment and suppliers, is required, especially during launch, with travel and on-site presence for multi-week or multi-month durations. The engineer will oversee the installation and launch of facilities equipment, ensure equipment performance specifications are met, and lead the successful transfer of equipment to plant manufacturing teams.
