About The Position

The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) is an American multinational consumer goods company serving consumers globally with a strong portfolio of trusted brands. This Plant Technician role is located at the Greensboro, NC – Swing Road Plant. The position involves running and maintaining the latest production technology and equipment for major brands. Plant Technicians are essential to keeping production flowing, meeting performance goals, and maintaining high product quality. The role offers entry-level hiring with opportunities for advancement based on operating, maintenance, and leadership skills, with potential to expand into electrical, quality assurance, safety, and hygiene. Technicians will be involved in running high-speed converting and packing equipment, controlling processes via computer terminals, and performing preventive maintenance. They will have ownership of their work from day one, influencing production and quality, and will receive mentorship, coaching, and training in a safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent education
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Willing to wear required safety personal protective equipment (eye protection, ear protection, safety shoes)
  • Willing to work rotating shifts
  • Willing to operate essential material handling equipment at the site (forklift, clamp truck, hand trucks, etc.)
  • Technical aptitude and ability to operate machinery
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
  • Awareness of safety protocols and procedures
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Able to display skills in manufacturing processes, including operating, maintaining and cleaning automated equipment
  • Maintaining accurate records and data
  • Display strong technical, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Use basic hand and power tools
  • Lift 50 pounds by bending and stooping; climb, stand, and move around on stairs, ladders and platforms; twist, turn and bend
  • Enter confined spaces
  • Stand on concrete floors for an extended period of time

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Running high-speed converting and packing equipment
  • Controlling the process from a computer terminal
  • Performing preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Operating and maintaining equipment in their area
  • Acting as a System Owner or Equipment Owner for their area
  • Participating on a team to pack a product received from a making area or package a finished product item, manually or with machine/robot assistance
