About The Position

The Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Technician supports and maintains Clover’s milk processing, bottling, and distribution facilities. The role performs preventative maintenance and repairs on production equipment and a range of facility systems, maintains records to track equipment condition and service needs, and helps keep equipment operating effectively. The technician is expected to maintain sanitary conditions and follow Clover’s food safety and quality programs and policies.

The position pays $43.69 per hour, with a $2.00 increase in $0.50 monthly increments per the CBA. Work schedules vary in a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week environment; shifts are typically four days of ten hours each, and flexibility is critical. Applicants must pass a drug test after a conditional offer and before beginning work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least five years of applicable experience.
• Valid California driver’s license that must be maintained.
• Meet company and commercial insurance carrier driver eligibility standards.
• Certificates for completed classes in welding, electrical, pneumatics, and hydraulics, or equivalent experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical skills.
• Intermediate plumbing skills.
• Previous manufacturing equipment repair experience.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Ability to interact well with personnel in multiple departments.
• Experience following Good Manufacturing Procedures.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to read and comprehend manuals.
• Ability to lift and/or carry at least 50 pounds and bend and twist.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge and understanding of dairy processing processes.
• Knowledge of pasteurization, homogenization, sanitation, CIP theory, legal system controls, fluid flow, and dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on filling machines and related equipment, including casing, stacking, conveying machinery, palletizers, and wrappers.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on valves, pumps, separators, HTST systems, and CIP systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC, boilers, pneumatic systems, refrigeration, lighting, electrical, natural gas, and wastewater systems.
• Maintain records and documentation to track equipment failure and service requirements and support effective forecasting.
• Use systems knowledge and troubleshooting skills for programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, control voltage, and single- and three-phase electrical systems.
• Maintain sanitary conditions for machinery and personal habits in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policy.
• Perform all job duties in accordance with Clover’s food safety and quality programs and policies.
• Understand and fulfill responsibilities for maintaining food safety and quality at Clover.
