About The Position

Join Alcon in Johns Creek, GA as a Manufacturing Equipment Controls Specialist to keep cutting-edge manufacturing equipment performing at peak levels. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys tracking down faults across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC/controls systems, and who is willing to help teammates learn as they go. The challenge involves diagnosing and resolving equipment issues to reduce downtime and elevate yield and product quality. You will execute preventive and corrective maintenance, support predictive strategies, and optimize spare parts. You will also coach production personnel through technical hurdles, collaborate to keep output on track, and rebuild worn components in the parts repair shop. Additionally, you will support retrofits and upgrades, draft and update SOPs and shop repair instructions, assist with validation protocols, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for balanced gains in cost, throughput, yield, and quality.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • English fluency (read, write, understand, communicate).
  • 1+ year of relevant hands-on experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct machine maintenance experience.
  • Proven success troubleshooting and repairing production equipment.
  • Related technical certification or equivalent training/experience (e.g., manufacturing technology, electrical engineering).

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve equipment issues to reduce downtime and elevate yield and product quality.

  • Rebuild worn components in the parts repair shop to “as-built” condition, contributing to annual cost avoidance.
  • Support retrofits and upgrades; draft and update SOPs and shop repair instructions.
  • Assist with validation protocols tied to equipment and process changes.
  • Continuously improve manufacturing processes for balanced gains in cost, throughput, yield, and quality.
