We are currently looking for an Manufacturing Engineering Technologist - US to join our busy and growing manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be engaged in elevating the department and company to the next level. The incumbent will be forward looking and thrive in a culture of continuous improvement. Requirements

  • Team player who can easily adapt to change
  • Ability to multitask
  • Strong computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Strong working knowledge of CAD tools, including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.
  • Knowledge of working with ERP systems preferred
  • Effective communication skills, interpersonal skills, and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail in design and problem resolution is required
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, fabrication processes, and industry standards
  • College or University degree (BA or Business Degree) in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering program
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electronics manufacturing and mechanical manufacturing, or technical assembly

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of IPC standards for Printed Circuit Boards, and familiarity with current ISO 9001 standards will be an advantage
  • Practical experience in GD&T considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects to improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout by employing lean methodologies and automating manufacturing processes where applicable
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and increase productivity
  • Collaborate with Product Development to ensure manufacturability and cost effectiveness
  • Understand all equipment capabilities, operation, and methods within the electronics, assembly, and pressure body manufacturing areas to ensure superb product quality, process capability and efficiency
  • Support the training of operators and the development of process documentation, such as work instructions and training materials
  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes
  • Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; and implement cost reduction initiatives
  • Pilot new product introduction (NPI) within but not limited to, production and supply chain
  • Recommend process and technical design changes to improve capacity, throughput, quality, cost, and safety
  • Work with cross-functional departments to implement and drive product change requests (PCR)
  • Generate, monitor, and analyze production data to create weekly KPIs
  • Provide engineering support to the Production department to troubleshoot and resolve technical constraints
  • Investigate and implement design and process revisions to reduce quality costs associated with manufacturing scrap, rework, and field warranty
  • Monitor and implement a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • All other duties and projects as assigned
