About The Position

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes for their autonomous surface vessels (ASVs). This role will collaborate closely with engineers, production staff, and suppliers to ensure efficient and high-quality production for the DoD. The technician will focus on process execution, troubleshooting, and hands-on support to maintain smooth production operations.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field; equivalent technical training or experience may be considered.
  • Prior experience as a manufacturing technician or similar role in a complex electromechanical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of shop-floor practices, process documentation, and quality control.
  • Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, technical documentation, and follow standard operating procedures.
  • Hands-on problem-solving skills and mechanical/electrical aptitude.
  • Must be a "U.S. Person" (U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident, or certain protected classes of asylees and refugees).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with autonomous systems, robotics, or maritime technologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of manufacturing processes for ASV production.
  • Support engineers in implementing lean manufacturing techniques to reduce waste and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Provide feedback on tooling, fixtures, and equipment performance to aid process improvements.
  • Work with design and engineering teams to translate specifications into practical manufacturing steps.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for parts, materials, and consumables needed in production.
  • Investigate, document, and escalate production issues; assist engineers in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Suggest and help implement improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality.
  • Perform time-studies.
  • Stay engaged with best practices in manufacturing techniques and equipment operation.
  • Maintain accurate records of production processes, test results, and quality checks.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and applicable industry standards.
  • Provide hands-on training to production staff on proper use of equipment and processes.
  • Serve as a first line of troubleshooting during production issues and escalate when needed.
