About The Position

This role supports the daily operation and processes in the facility, focusing on maintaining and improving equipment and processes to meet objectives in safety, quality, and productivity. The technician will apply concepts of gauging, fixtures, and tooling to assist in problem-solving, support maintenance technicians with troubleshooting production equipment, and identify areas for improvement in tooling, cleanliness, operation sequences, or manufacturing consistency to increase throughput or product quality. The position also involves maintaining part programs, evaluating and repairing existing tooling and fixturing, supporting engineering projects, and assisting with plant support functions such as drawing development, PCR administration, and ensuring processes accurately produce parts according to documentation. Additionally, the role includes basic modeling and fixture design, procedure and documentation creation/updates, training material updates, assisting with plant layouts, creating and checking equipment manuals, and responding to equipment down calls that cannot be resolved by maintenance, requiring efficient mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in an Engineering related field or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years’ experience in related field.
  • Must be able to understand and monitor PLC programs.
  • Must have robotic programming experience.
  • Must have basic understanding and exposure to parametric modeling and drafting using 3D CAD software.
  • Machining and welding capabilities required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Strong communication and project organization abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
  • Exhibit strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Exhibit strong trouble shooting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Apply concepts and details of gauging, fixtures and tooling to assist in problem solving.
  • Support the maintenance technicians anytime they’re struggling with effectively trouble shooting a production piece of equipment.
  • Identify areas in which tooling, cleanliness, operation sequences, or manufacturing consistency can be improved to increase throughput or product quality.
  • Help maintaining and controlling part programs for all equipment areas.
  • When necessary, help to evaluate existing tooling and fixturing to determine optimum method of repair or improvement.
  • Provide support to production associates as they assume greater responsibility in manufacturing functions.
  • Support engineering projects related to the improvement of the facility.
  • Plant Support - Support all manufacturing engineering groups with drawing development and releases, PCR administration and support.
  • Ensure that processes are accurately producing parts to the specified documentation, drawings, or work instructions.
  • Basic modeling and fixture design.
  • Procedure and documentation creation/updates (WI, TPMs, WI, PMs, 5S, …).
  • Training material updates.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of plant layouts.
  • Equipment manual creation and checking.
  • Respond to equipment down calls that can’t be resolved by maintenance.
  • Trouble shoot equipment efficiently and effectively (mechanically and electrically).
